Thanks Jane! That is a big drawback of the app, I agree. Unfortunately I do not have that sheet music myself. It was created as i played it in their recording studio for the lesson. So I have never seen it. Perhaps they may be able to send you a pdf if you contact them.. but I'm not sure. Sorry!
Hi Arthur
I worked through your book How to Play Boogie Woogie and loved it. I'm working on Boogie Woogie Stomp now following your version on Flowkey. I'm old school and like to have full sheet music when playing instead of just following computer. Flowkey does not have option to print the sheet music. Can I get a copy this arrangement from you directly?
Thanks
Jane
great Philip ! it was exactly that i was looking for...
thanks a lot, very helpful this forum !
regards
Hi philip
I see only music of linsay compser on musiscore.com...
Alain
Hi, I think there is at least one version on https://musescore.com/sheetmusic?text=boogie%20woogie
Thanks Alain! I thought on the Flowkey app you can slow the tempo to practice, no? Maybe I am mistaken.
Yes, it is difficult to find exact transcriptions of the old boogie stuff because it was almost never written down by the composers. So everyone plays it a little differently. :-)
Thank you for learning boogie and keeping this music alive!
Hi Arthur, thank for reply.. yes i've seen several times your video.. and listen too on flowkey... but the tempo is pretty high !
now i'am able to play "Monster Left Hand: Left Hand for Boogie Woogie Stomp" as you show in your video...
But for the right hand all i've seen on the web is slighty different from the original score play by Albert Ammons...
anyway boogie stomp is based on a repeated pattern, not too hard to play...
difficulty is the very fast tempo...
thank again for your work, it's a real pleasure to work with your courses and books !
Hi Alain, thanks for writing! I never used sheet music to learn it, so I can't offer any suggestions... however I did make a recording (with sheet music) for the app "Flowkey". You need the app in order to view it and practice with it. I think there is a free trial period if you want to try. I'm not sure if you can print out the music from within the app, or if you must view it from your device.
Other than that, I'm not sure which score is the best. Perhaps someone else here can make a recommendation.
