How to make hand relax?
I'm a total newbie and came across the site on youtube. I'm trying to follow the beginners video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsCiyPHI3kI
I'm left handed so find the base pattern fairly easy and can pickup ressonable speed, however I'm really struggling wiyj the right hand C6. I can just about manage the full note, but it sounds very very clunky and i can feel the tensipon when i'm trying it.
Any ideas how I can try and be less tense withthis hand which would help my flow and make it easier, or will it just be reptition to get there?

Hi Brian welcome to the site! Getting the hand to relax will take some time. It's natural to tense when learning any new skill. You can help speed things along by consciously practicing relaxation, but it will still take time.
If you are new to piano, I would recommend getting a teacher for a couple lessons in person to show you how to play some major scales with proper technique. Scales are a great way to get your fingers used to playing your new instrument (the piano).
Also, as you are holding down chords, like the C6, take care that you are not continuing to actively push the notes down with your muscles while you hold them. The weight of your arm is more than enough to hold down the piano keys, so if you practice using minimal force to HOLD the keys down that will help. You can strike them loud or soft or whatever, when when you are holding them down you should always use minimal force.
Hope that helps!
